University of Western Ontario International Scholarships in Canada 2021

The University of Western Ontario is pleased to announce the University of Western Ontario International Scholarships, which are awarded to high-achieving students interested in studying a degree program at the institution.

The University of Western Ontario (UWO), known as Western University as of 2012 and usually abbreviated to Western, is a public research university located in London, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is located on a 455-hectare (1,120-acre) site surrounded by residential neighborhoods and the Thames River, which bisects the eastern portion of the campus. The university maintains twelve academic departments and schools. It is a member of U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada.

The university was founded on March 7, 1878, as the Western University of London, Ontario, by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth of the Anglican Diocese of Huron. It incorporated Huron College, which had been founded in 1863. The first four faculties were divinity, arts, law and medicine. The university became non-denominational in 1908. As of 1919, the university had allied itself with many other denominational colleges. In the post-World War II period, the school grew significantly, and a number of departments and schools were established.
